Plasterboarding & Dry Lining Services
Plasterboarding, also known as dry lining, involves lining walls and ceilings with plasterboard sheets before applying a finishing skim coat. It is a fast, effective way to create smooth, even surfaces and is used extensively in new builds, extensions, loft conversions, renovations, and anywhere new walls or ceilings need to be created or existing ones improved.
We supply and fit all types of plasterboard, including standard board, moisture-resistant board for kitchens and bathrooms, fire-rated board, acoustic board, and insulated (thermal) board for improved energy efficiency.
Our Plasterboarding Methods
- Dot and Dab – Plasterboard is bonded directly to a solid wall (brick or block) using dabs of adhesive. This is the quickest and most cost-effective method for lining solid walls.
- Screw-Fixed to Timber or Metal Framework – Plasterboard is screwed to a timber or metal stud framework. This is used for creating new partition walls, boxing in services, or where the underlying wall is uneven.
- Ceiling Boarding – Plasterboard is fixed to ceiling joists or a suspended framework. This includes reboarding over old lath and plaster ceilings or creating new ceilings in extensions and conversions.
